Sticky Resin is a vitally important natural resource in IndustrialCraft2 that is required to make almost every item the mod adds, being the easiest way to produce Rubber, which in turn is required for cable insulation.
Sticky Resin has other uses as well. It can be used as a substitute for a Slimeball when making Sticky Pistons, and also can be used as a type of pitch to substitute for coal or charcoal when making torches. It can also be placed directly on the ground to create a sheet of Sticky Resin which reduces or prevents fall damage.
Ways to obtain Sticky Resin:
- Tap from sapholes of any IndustrialCraft2 Rubber Tree
- Chop down IndustrialCraft2 Rubber Trees
- Amber Combs or by Centrifuging Propolis.
- Stickreed
- UU-Matter

Automation[edit]
By using a Arboretum to grow the rubber tree saplings and an Automatic Treetap you can get the sticky resin. However, if you don't have a Logger, production will stop until the trees are chopped down, as the Automatic Treetap will tap the resin spots until full exhaustion.
Recipe[edit]
Sticky Resin can be obtained through a variety of machines in addition to tapping trees. For the recipes that require Rubber Wood any type of Rubber Wood may be used.

Usage[edit]
Sticky Resin can be used to create the following items:Resin Sheet[edit]
Placing sticky resin directly on the ground creates a sheet of sticky resin, which reduces fall damage when you land on it, similar to Rubber Boots. The sheet slows movement in general, similar to Soul Sand, and walking on it or digging it makes sounds like Sand and Soul Sand.
Digging up a Resin Sheet or the block under the sheet destroys the sheet and has an 80% chance to drop the resin again. There is no tool to speed up digging a Resin Sheet, although efficiency on any tool will speed it up a little. You may consider digging up the blocks under it instead with their designated tool to speed up the process.
