Compressor (IndustrialCraft 2)
|ID Name|| |
|Affected by Gravity||No|
The Compressor is an IndustrialCraft2 machine commonly used to craft Advanced Alloys, Carbon Plates, Diamonds, Compressed Plantball and Refined Uranium. It can also make snowballs and Ice. In addition, it is used for the intermediate stages of crafting many items.
With GregTech 4 installed, the Compressor is also required to create blocks of many ingots and gems. For example, the crafting table recipe for Block of Iron is disabled; instead you need to put your 9 Iron Ingots in a Compressor. Likewise, reverting blocks back to their component ingots and gems often requires either smelting the block or pulverizing/macerating it.
Compressors may be powered by a direct Cable connection, a Single-Use Battery, or a RE-Battery in the lower slot. Remember that to retrieve any machine, you must use a Wrench or an Electric Wrench. As of v1.337 a Pump (IC2) with an infinite water source under it and a Compressor placed directly next to it will pump and compress water into snowballs without the need for Water Cells. When using BuildCraft pipes or RedPower Pneumatic Tubes, the top is the input and the rest of the block is output.
Known Bugs: If you try to remove the machine with an uncharged Electric Wrench and it's trying to compress something, it might destroy everything inside.
As compressor is a basic machine, it has an internal power storage and upgrades can be applied to it.
The Compressor can receive up to 32 EU/t, unless it is upgraded with a Transformer Upgrade. If you supply it with any more energy than low voltage (32 EU/t), the Compressor will explode! The Compressor consumes 625 EU per operation and requires a minimum of 2 EU/t to operate continuously.
