Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]

"You have successfully adapted the enchantment on an apprentice wand. You can use it to trade dozens of blocks in the world with some you are carrying.

You must first choose the block you wish to change other blocks into by sneaking and right clicking on the desired block. When you then left-click on another block it will turn into the target block. Right clicking will transform a whole swathe of blocks.

You must be carrying enough target blocks, and the transformed blocks will replace them in your inventory. Only blocks with at least one face adjacent to open air or non-solid blocks will be transformed."

Use[edit]

To use this item you must (as said above) sneak and right click on the desired item and then have at least one more of this item in your inventory, now you may left click on another type of block and the block you left clicked on will be moved into your inventory and be replaced by the item you sneak and right clicked on (Not that exact item unless you picked it up again after sneak and right clicking on it).

This is useful for mining obsidian quickly as you may sneak and right click on an item such as cobble and then left click on a block of obsidian and the obsidian will replace a piece of cobble in your inventory. Additionally, it does not require any diamonds to be created.

This may also be used for changing the block type of a structure quickly, instead of demolishing it and rebuilding with a different block, just sneak and right click on the new block and then right click on the old block type and a mass amount of the old block type will be replaced with the new.

Because this wand exchanges only the blocks adjacent to one another and also facing an air block, it is possible that there will be more blocks of the target type present in the area, but covered by the replacement blocks, and therefore not collected. This can be beneficial if you only need to change the surface blocks, such as converting a dirt house and floor to wood planks without wasting wood on what lies below your dirt floor. However, if you use this wand to excavate large amounts of materials (e.g. an apetite or clay node) you should replace the blocks with something that is incapable of covering the underlying blocks, such as long grass. This effectively makes a hole where your target block used to be, collecting all of it out to the limit of your wand's capability (this can be an exceptional waste of your wand's durability if you miss-click, as it can exchange far more in a full radius than it would have exchanged in a radius limited to the surface).

Note, this item does not work like silk touch, if you exchange a diamond ore with a piece of cobble in your inventory you will receive 1 diamond.
