Research Tier 1

Alumentum is an alchemical substance which looks similar to Nitor, only with a more grey texture. However instead of being a light source, it serves as an efficient fuel and explosive ranged weapon.

Right-clicking with Alumentum selected will throw the item, which will explode upon landing. The radius of the explosion is only 3 blocks and it isn't powerful enough to destroy stone. This can make it useful as a long-ranged and environmentally-friendly weapon.

It can be used as fuel that lasts long enough to smelt 32 items, 4 times longer than coal. As fuel, this is equal to one piece of Coal Coke from Railcraft. One or the other may suit the player's needs better. Coal Coke only requires one piece of Coal, but takes about 3 minutes to cook in a Coke Oven. On the other hand, Alumentum requires aspects equivalent to 3 Coal (which can be substituted by renewable resources), but can be produced much more quickly.

Fractus

Ignis Potentia

This substance throbs with fiery energy and it is more than eager to release that energy at the slightest bump. It may be unstable, but would probably make a good source of fuel.

Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]

It is probably not a good idea to throw it against a solid surface unless you enjoy explosions.

Recipe[edit]

Alumentum is created in a Crucible:

  • 3 Fractus
  • 6 Ignis
  • 6 Potentia

To finish, right click the Crucible with a wand, this consumes 5 vis.
