The ME Controller is a block added by the Applied Energistics 2 mod. The Controller has the ability to transmit data throughout the ME Network using 32 channels per side. The ME Dense Cable is the only cable that can support 32 channel simultaneously so it can be used as a main data line to connect to another ME Controller or branch off into 8 channel distribution lines via ME Glass Cable, ME Covered Cable (less lag) or ME Smart Cable (displays the amount of channels used) to connect all the devices and multi-block structures in the network.
As each side of an ME Controller only supports 32 channels, it may be needed to add additional controllers to the system. This can only be achieved by creating a multiblock structure consisting out of multiple adjacent ME Controller blocks. The size of this multiblock structure also may not exceed 7x7x7 blocks. The multiblock can be almost any shape (there are a few exceptions). ME Controllers can not be connected to each other using any type of ME Cable (or AE machine that transmits channels). Doing so will cause the controllers to turn red and stop functioning.
"Each side" actually means *per block face*. A 1x1x1 ME controller will result in 192 channels; 32 channels * 6 sides. A 7x7x7 ME controller will result in 1,568 channels per side, a multiblock total of 9,408 channels; 49 "faces" per side, 32 channels per face, and 6 sides. Using ME Dense Cables with Cable Anchors can allow cables to be run alongside each other and maximize channel output. Another option such as Ender IO ME Dense Cables could be used instead and will provide identical results.

Usage[edit]
ME Controller (Applied Energistics 2) has no known uses in crafting.
Notes[edit]
- Connecting an ME Device, or a cable other than Dense, directly to a Controller is not recommended as it would use up all 32 channels available for that single device or cable.
- In FTB Infinity Evolved, the ME Controller can be used solely as the energy acceptor replacement, providing power to the rest of the AE2 system.
