"One limitation of the Unseen Scribe is that it can only examine a single type of container, one of which must be placed somewhere behind it. Another limitation is the size of the area the scribe can examine. The scrivener's oculus helps to overcome both constraints.
The oculus uses crystalline eyes pointed at containers in the vicinity to set the container types that the scribe will examine. An eye pointed at the scribe itself will increase the examined area by one block on all sides. Up to five eyes can be used at a time.
To use an oculus, simply place it on top of an Unseen Scribe and then right-click it with the crystalline eyes you have prepared. Right-click with an empty hand to remove the last eye inserted."
