Crafted inside a Fancy Workbench, Recipe Book records the current recipe in the Workbench's crafting grid, and assists in showing the ingredients and pattern. Place a vanilla Book in the left-most slot with the book icon and click the arrow to write a Recipe Book. Each book holds a single recipe, and a valid crafting recipe must be present in the Fancy Workbench to write a Recipe Book. Right click while holding the Recipe Book opens the GUI, showing the recipe inside as well as a list and number of ingredients. The player can also write a short, one-page description of the recipe or item opposite the recipe page. The player can also choose to Sign the book from this GUI, making its contents permanent. Unsigned Recipe Books can be overwritten on the Fancy Workbench, whereas Signed Recipe Books cannot.
Recipe books can be duplicated on the Printing Press.
