Talk:Stirling Engine

Exploding[edit]

"It will eventually explode if it is producing more power than is being extracted from it". Is that really true? I've never seen a Stirling Engine explode. The machine my Stirling Engines is powering is already full of energy, and I keep the engines running. Still no explosion. -Minken (EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to include signature and time stamp)

Yup, I got a Stirling engine up to 10,000 MJ stored and it exploded. However, it wouldn't go above 2500 MJ on its own, only when I pumped more energy into it via other engines would it get out of the blue stage. Also, if you're outputting into energy conduits or conductive pipes, you won't have a problem. --timrem (talk) 05:38, 24 May 2013 (CEST)
If you're outputting to BC conductive pipes, they will explode if the energy builds up too much. After that the engine should build up to 10,000 MJ and explode. If you're using energy conduit the Stirling engine should never explode as the conduit simply dissipates excess power.Iamtk421 (talk) 06:14, 24 May 2013 (CEST)
Thanks both of you for the information. That explains why my Stirling Engines never exploded. I do use Redstone conduits. I put up a really ugly way for automatic wood cutting, converting Oak logs to planks and then planks to slabs. The slabs goes into a huge pipe with gazillions of Sterling Engines attached everywhere. Some of the engines is peaking at 5,500 MJ before they self-cool down. --Minken (talk) 10:00, 25 May 2013 (CEST)
