ME Dark Cable is a block added by Applied Energistics. This cable needs to be supplied with a redstone signal to transmit ME Network data to the ME Controller. If the redstone signal is interrupted, that section of the ME Network will be disconnected from the ME Controller

Keep in mind that changing the ME Network causes the ME Controller to reboot, and any crafting jobs in progress will be cancelled.
