Gendustry is a mod that expands upon Forestry's mechanic of Bee Breeding, introduced with MC v.1.6.4. It provides the Industrial Apiary which is an upgradable Apiary for production at scale - more powerful than the Alveary but with a high power cost. It also allows for the precise direct manipulation of the genetics for bees, trees, flowers and butterflies with the Genetic Sampler and Genetic Imprinter. The Mutatron can force the mutation of bees, flowers and trees by utilizing Mutagen.
Similar to Genetics, individual genes can be sampled and recombined to make species tailored exactly to the player's needs. It's generally more powerful than Genetics as it can be used directly on existing flora/fauna without having to go through Larvae and sidesteps the difficulties of chance-based mutations.
It has some minor optional integration with BuildCraft, substituting certain recipes to use chips instead of vanilla resources.
