The Crucible is a block added by Professor Flaxbeard's Wondrous Steam Power Mod used to melt metals and create alloys. A Crucible has to be placed on top of a burning fire (using Netherrack is recommended) or a lava block.
To use the crucible, a player must throw in metal in the form of Nuggets, Ingots, Plates, or Tools. The metal will then be converted into molten metal. Right clicking the crucible will tip it, and pour molten metal into an adjacent Mold. If the correct proportion of metal is in the crucible, alloys such as Brass will form.
Note: When casting, 2 ingots worth of liquid metal will result in 3 Plates, so using Brass Plates instead of Brass Ingots in various recipes is cheaper.
