The BetterChests mod was created by Aroma1997 during ModJam in August 2013. The mod adds a new chest into the game, called the Adjustable Chest. This chest is a small chest with only 9 slots. The chest can be upgraded to store more items and gain special abilities by adding upgrades to it. The mod also comes with an Adjustable Bag which acts like a portable chest.
