Gravity Gun is a mod which adds an item of the same name. It is based on the gravity gun from the game Half Life 2 by Valve. It allows players to pick up blocks and other players and either fire them a short distance, or move them to a different position.
Left clicking with the Gravity Gun will create a blast that will push entities in front of the player away, and if holding something, will launch the held item. Right Clicking will bring entities toward the player, and when they are close enough they will be picked up.
The Gravity Gun cannot pick up entities like the Ender Dragon and the Wither.
If you pick up a block with the gravity gun and place it on top of a torch or slab, the block will drop as a resource. While this is a bug, it may be useful in acquiring certain resources without having the tools required to harvest them, such as obsidian, ore blocks, and even beehives. (Fixed as of 1.5)
There is a bug where lifting a Deep Storage Unit with the gravity gun will duplicate it. (Fixed as of 1.5)
Supercharged Gravity Gun
Another way to acquire a supercharged gravity gun is to hold a regular gravity gun in your hotbar and whilst being struck by lightning. One can more easily achieve a lightning strike by crating a Mystcraft age and adding several "Charged" symbols or by creating a Twilight Forest portal. This can be done with multiple gravity guns at once.
When using the Supercharged Gravity Gun and picking up a creeper, if you happen to shoot the creeper at the block or entity, the creeper will explode upon contact (Creeper must be about 4-11 blocks away to explode on contact) However, this does not work when using the normal Gravity Gun.
The Portal Gun can also pick up blocks using the "G" key, by default, although it cannot launch them.
When holding right click in in third person mode, your speed is reduced to that of sneaking. if you continue holding right click as you change back into first person view, you will notice that the gun model is now in the upper right of your screen, and your speed will still be reduced.
When picking up a barrel with the gun, the barrel will take on the texture of a craftpacket maker, and revert to a barrel when placed.
If you grab a warded block from over 4 blocks away with the supercharged gravity gun, it will duplicate it. However, the original block can only now be broken in creative, and the same for the duplicate, most of the time.
